Rather poor blend of Giallo mystery trappings with satanic/occult horror that works mostly as a perversely charming hodgepodge of genre cinema clichees but retains some merit due to some wonderfully crafted disturbing scenes of lucid demonic psychedelia.

Michael is a successful actor, but he has a scandal in his past: at a tender age he knifed his father to death. He and his girlfriend Deborah go to his mother’s for the weekend, and are joined by the director and others from a recent film project. But they are given a rather cool reception by the superstitious housekeeper Oliver. Soon rude things begin happening to some of the guests, and Michael fears a repeat of his nightmare past is in progress.

Ricardo Fredda’s Gialli tend to lean towards the trashier end of the genre canon , see “Iguana with the tongue of fire” for reference. This one is along the same lines, as the pace is quite problematic to put it nicely and the storyline doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Luckily the end is quite strong if downbeat and manages to tie the fragmented narrative together. As per usual in Gialli , there is not much care for character development . Performances by genre regulars are mostly unspectacular. However this will probably appeals to fans of trashier Gialli like: Strip nude for your killer , Paris Sex Murders and the aforementionen Iguana with the Tongue of fire.

Borderline fodder yet with rewarding moments. I’d like to watch the bluray though as my vhs copy is a bloody mess.

A sleazefest filled to the brim with Eurocult regulars by Roberto Bianchi Montero. Pleasure guaranteed in spades here as this affair is of the same lineage as films like: French Sex Murders,Giallo a Venezia  and Strip nude for your Killer. Do you see a pattern here? Yes, I bet you do , Sex and promiscuity is the name of the game here.

Inspector Capuana investigates serial murders where the victims of unfaithful wives were get killed as they were having sex with their husbands. A naked woman is found murdered and mutilated in a prosperous small province town in Southern Italy. But who is murdering her? After a while, the killer who wears black fedora, gloves, and trench coat starts photographing unfaithful wives as they start having sex with their lovers and also killing them.

So here we have a storyline, where unscrupulous and corrupt ,bored wives of the upper class meet their maker. Some say it’s misogynist, well, I think that this is not misogynist and nihilistic in a New York Ripper vein ,but it’s rather a sarcastic commentary on the ill deeds of the Bourgeoisie. However ,rest assured Montero is no Marco Ferreri or Elio Petri. There is more focus on gratuitous nudity and brutal killings here .

As far as I’m concerned I feel that  “So Sweet so Dead” ,which also was released as “Penetration” with hardcore inserts, is a highly successful Giallo .It’s as polished and stylish as it could  ever be, definitely not bottom barrel like “Giallo a Venezia” and features so many stalwarts of Euro cult cinema that it is almost a paradox.

Mandatory addition to your Giallo collection.

Τζιαλλο κολοσσός από το Ρομπερτο Μπιανκι Μοντερο , ο οποίος σχεδόν παίζει το Τοrso του Sergio Martino στα ίσια ,αλλά λόγω διαφοράς μπατζετ καταλήγει να φιγουράρει στη μέση του βαθμολογικού πίνακα μαζί με άλλα υπερ-sleazy έπη όπως τα: French Sex Murders και Strip Nude for your Killer.

Tο Παρόν δεν χωρατεύει, είναι υπερβίαιο και κάνει και την ανατροπή με κοινωνικό σχόλιο για τη διαφθορά τις Ιταλικής Μπουρζουαζίας, αλλά μην τρελαθούμε Ο Μπιανκι Μοντερο δεν φιλοδοξεί να γίνει ο επόμενος Μπελόκιο αλλά να βγάλει το μεροκάματο και όχι μόνο τα καταφέρνει αλλά μάλλον παραδίδει κιόλας με το φιλμ αυτό την πιο πετυχημένη του προσπάθεια.

A stylish Giallo coup de grâce by Umberto Lenzi, unfortunately hampered by a rather by-the-numbers storyline and a weak lead, in this case Antonio Sabato. Still this nice piece of vintage spaghetti mystery thriller delivers the goods and manages to satisfy the avid Eurocult fan.

A serial killer is on the loose, murdering certain women around the city. While travelling on a train on his honeymoon, Mario (Antonio Sabato) sees his wife brutally attacked aboard the train and after the killer gets away, the police accuse Mario of attacking his newlywed wife. The Police decide to hide the fact that Giulia (Uschi Glas), Mario’s wife is alive in order to protect her from the killer. Mario sets out to prove his innocence by attempting to solve the “Puzzle of the Silver Half Moons”

This film would pretty much justify the price of admission on the grounds of the first reel, Rosella Falk’s masterfully executed “bathtub” scene and then Marisa Mell’s gruesome murder .Other than that is a rather hit’ n ‘ miss affair characterized by a great cinematography and mise en scene . Truth be told Umberto Lenzi was responsible for a string of pretty successful Gialli but towards the 1970s, he began focusing his attention on poliziotteschi films and his contributions to making Gialli began to deteriorate. Other than that the score by Riz Ortolani is to die for.

Anyway Giallo fans should definitely  check this one out.

όμορφος τζιάλλο σινεμάς από το μαιτρ του κινηματογράφου είδους Ουμπερτο Λένζι.

Ο μέγας Ουμπέρτο φιλμαρει μερακλίδικα μια δυστυχώς μπαναλ ιστορία μυστηρίου που εμπλέκει έναν νεκρό Αμερικανό και εφτά γυναίκες,αλλά το τελικό αποτέλεσμα μάλλον δικαιώνει τους οπαδούς του Ιταλικού στυλιζαρισμένου pulp  θρίλερ.

Oι αρχική σεκάνς, η μουσική του Ριζ Ορτολάνι και μερικές αριστουργηματικά καμωμένες βίαιες σκηνές ,κάνουν το πικρό ποτήρι της άνευρης ερμηνείας του Αντόνιο Σαμπάτο και της αδιάφορης αφήγησης λίγο πιο υποφερτό.

Οι φανς του σκηνοθέτη και του Ευρωπαικού καλτ κινηματογράφου καλά θα κάνουν να τσεκάρουν όπως και να έχει.

Originally intended to be seen as an inside joke and a parody of the seminal director’s Cannibal horror ventures, Daughter of the jungle is a carefree guilty pleasure of a film and far from the trainwreck I expected it to be.

Two American college students decide to take a vacation to the Amazon. After getting to meet the local mafia boss they eventually get the good old stomping treatment  by his honchos, soon after they  proceed to rent a boat and sail down the river in search of some good scenery, but  the two kids become lost and form an unlikely alliance with Luana (a female Tarzan) who was lost in the jungle as a child when her parent’s helicopter crashes. They set to fight the mafia crew who arrives on location to search for a treasure.

Well I admit that I am far less a Sabrina Siani fetishist than I used to be in the past. Try as she might ,poor Sabrina wasn’t able to act ,even if her life depended on it , but her presence and looks make nonetheless this film a far more pleasurable experience. Other than that ,Lenzi manages to keep the pace on this one fast enough and “Incontro nell’ ultimo paradiso” plays like a likeable Bud Spencer-Terence Hill lesser buddy comedy, set in the jungle, including the dated goofy jokes. Not too bad for the great ,late Umberto and his team of  associates Giovanni Bergamini as director of photography and Vincenzo Tomassi on editing. Lenzi was responsible for far better but also for abysmal films. This is a cool way to kill a couple of afternoon hours ,however if you expect another “Eaten Alive” or “Cannibal Ferox” you’ll be immensely disappointed…

Ακίνδυνη ,οικογενειακή pg περιπέτεια του Ουμπέρτο Λένζι με τη Σαμπρίνα Σιάνι στο αποκορύφωμα των τριών χρόνων της δημοσιότητας της. Η ξανθιά καλλονή μεν,ατάλαντη στα όρια του γκροτέσκου δε, έπαιξε σε περισσότερες ταινίες μέσα σε αυτήν την περίοδο από οτι άλλες ηθοποιοί έχουν καταφέρει να παίξουν σε μια ζωή και μετά είδε τα φώτα της ράμπας να σβήνουν όπως και άπειροι άλλοι ηθοποιοί του σινεμά είδους.

Στο παρόν η Σιάνι ανακυκλώνει το ρόλο της ξανθιάς κόρης της ζούγκλας που την στοίχειωσε, βλέπε επίσης White Cannibal Queen και πολεμά αδίστακτες καρικατούρες κακοποιών συνοδευόμενη από δύο κολεγιόπαιδες αμερικανικής καταγωγής.Στο ερώτημα  “Υπάρχει Έρως στο έργο?” Απαντούμε με μια φωνή ” Φυσικά και υπάρχει” και αναχωρούμε για άλλες πολιτείες.

The paranoia and the anguish stemming from the loss of a loved one, the inability to rule one’s own life mixed with the panopticon of a totalitarian state and the corruption of the nomenclature brought us a beautiful Giallo that could be easily paired with the quite similarly structured “The perfume of the Lady in black”

Greg Moore, an American journalist visiting Prague with his girlfriend Mira is found dead. However, he’s actually only temporarily paralyzed, but the coroner fails to realize this and proceeds to prepare him for the autopsy. While Moore awaits his doom, he tries to recollect what has happened to him. It all starts when his girl disappears. He asks his friend, a local journalist, for help. They discover that this was just the latest in a series of disappearances of young pretty girls in the area. Their investigation leads them to a strange high profile private club, whose affluent members practice odd ritualistic orgies and bizarre dark rites.

While the aforementioned Perfume of the lady in black was a more Freudian affair that revolved around psychosexuality and trauma, this one focuses more on the horrors that lurk in the upper echelon of the social elite,in that regard actually it actually predates entries like Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes wide Shut” which unwound similar storylines. Still corruption is blatantly sociopolitical according to Aldo Lado and his Czechoslovakian nightmare.Alison Nastasi of Shock Till You Drop wrote, “Lado is at his best when Short Night of Glass Dolls confronts political and social unrest with nuanced symbolism.” Indeed he is and he is also aided by the slow burning nature of his monster. Some have criticised  the so-called lethargic pacing here, but they couldn’t be further from the truth, for the movie builds up gripping tension and finally rewards the patient viewer, who will be finally reduced to pulp with a very nihilistic finale.

Aldo Lado’s Giallo vehicle is a much celebrated entry in the spaghetti horror annals and should be cherished by all serious fans of arthouse/euro horror. This is as good as euro exploitation can get.

Μεγαλειώδης άσκηση ύφους σε Τζιάλλο φόρμα από τον μαιτρ Άλντο Λάντο.

Αμερικανός δημοσιογράφος που σταθμεύει στην Πράγα αναζητά την ντόπια αγαπημένη του , η οποία έχει χαθεί με μυστηριώδη τρόπο μην αφήνοντας ίχνη πίσω της. Ο Γκρεγκ Μουρ θα μπλέξει σε κυκλώματα τα οποία ούτε που φανταζόταν και η ντόπια Ελιτ θα προσπαθήσει να τον βγάλει από τη μέση. Όταν πλέον θα βρεθεί χωρίς σφυγμό να κείτεται σε ένα πάρκο ,τότε ο χρόνος για αυτόν θα αρχίσει να μετρά αντίστροφα…

Υποβλητική ατμόσφαιρα,καταπληκτική φωτογραφία,εξαιρετικό σαουντρακ,υποδειγματικός ρυθμός που σου πριονίζει αργά-αργά τις αντιστάσεις ,σε βάζει απόλυτα στο κλίμα και σε κάνει μέρος του όλου πράγματος. Άνετα ο Αλντο Λάντο στο σκηνοθετικό του ντεμπούτο θα μπορούσε να πέσει θύμα της αφήγησης που επέλεξε για το πόνημά του , πλην η φύση της θεματικής άψογα ενδεδυμένη με τα ατμοσφαιρικά πλάνα της Τσεχικής πρωτεύουσας και η λογική της αόρατης μέγγενης που σφίγγει σταδιακά γύρω από τον πρωταγωνιστή επιβραβεύουν τον υπομονετικό και απαιτητικό θεατή , ο οποίος στο τέλος θα γίνει θρύψαλα από το φινάλε το οποίο αφαιρεί βίαια τη ζωή σε κάθε ελπίδα για οποιαδήποτε αλλαγή.

Ναι,εδώ δεν υπάρχει χάπυ εντ, καθώς η καθεστηκυία τάξη δεν θα αφήσει την ορμή της νιότης να κερδίσει. Αντιθέτως θα συντρίψει με τρόπο κυνικό και υπερβίαιο κάθε απόπειρα αλλαγής του Στάτους Κβο.

Αριστούργημα…

 

 

Hired Gun(1975)

Hired Gun (1975) aka “Go Gorilla go”, “Vai Gorilla”

High octane but sadly obscure Italo crime action with operatic/over the top violence and an adequate lead by the ever reliable Fabio Testi.

Young Marco Sartori(Testi) is hired as a bodyguard of the obnoxious manufacturer Gaetano Sampioni who is blackmailed by a racket of omnipresent yet mysterious criminals led by the ruthless Berdo (Marsina). Sartori along with his shady brother Piero and another Gorilla name Siro will fight the bad guys and will lead them to their downfall.

As already stated this one is one of the better second tier poliziotteschi . Interestingly enough The censorship commission banned the film to people under 18 years old and Valerii refused the cuts requested by the production to lower the ban; the film eventually had a significant commercial success, grossing over 1 billion and 800 million lire. The film re-launched Fabio Testi‘s career as one of Italy’s most popular action film actors and gave Marsina a second chance at acting.

Valerii’s direction is assured and competent and the performances by the actors follow the standards set for the genre. Which means that we are not to see any sort of character depth, but as far as political incorrectness is concerned , there is aplenty. This is a fast moving piece that remains interesting throughout its entire duration and will satisfy the fans of this idiosyncratic film genre.

I cannot really comprehend why so few people talk about this film. Rest assured this is quality stuff. Recommended.

Τα καλά της βιντεοκασέτας και των επαφών με το δίκτυο των συλλεκτών παγκοσμίως μου εξασφάλισαν μια κόπια αυτού του italo crime δυναμίτη, με το Φάμπιο Τέστι σε ρόλο “γορίλλα” για λογαριασμό μεγαλοεργολάβου με καβούρια στις τσέπες  που απειλείται από σπείρα εκβιαστών και με μια κόρη μπουκιά και συχώριο που φυσικά πέφτει ξερή με το Φάμπιο.

Οπερατική βία χαρακτηριστική των ταινιών αυτών, Σέβεντις μουτσούνες “καθαρμάτων” και ένας Τέστι σε μεγάλα κέφια ,κάνουν το παρόν απαραίτητο απόκτημα για κάθε πιστό οπαδό των Ιταλικών ταινιών δράσης.

Προτείνεται ανεπιφύλακτα .

Solid late crime entry set in Sun city, South Africa with likeable performances by Monetta & Venantini, nice locales but somehow poor pacing and badly staged fight scenes.

Suspended from the police force, Marc Borelli (Monetta)travels to South-Africa to find out the truth about his fathers death. It seems that his father,once a casino owner was set-up and framed for a murder he didn’t commit and then commited suicide. Borelli will fight tooth and nail against the Sun City mob, local corrupt officials and his very own demons.

This is an interesting curio funded by Italian/German/South-African producers and distributed worldwide by Atlas films, “Lion’s Share” remained inexplicably obscure and is one of the most rarely seen Euro crime entries. Despite having no official dvd release to date, it was released  in Greece by two different companies on mighty VHS.

There is nothing spectacular to behold here, but Euro crime and Tulio Monetta fans should give it a try anyway…

80ιζ crime πολυεθνική παραδοξότητα, χρηματοδοτημένη από Γερμανούς,Ιταλούς και Νοτιοαφρικανούς παραγωγούς και τοποθετημένη στη Νότιο Αφρική πριν την κατάρευση του Απαρτχαιντ.

Επαναπατρισμένος γόνος τοπικού παράγοντα της μαφίας αναζητά στο παρακμιακό Σαν Σιτυ της Νότιας Αφρικής το χαμένο μίτο του παρελθόντος του , μοιραία θα συγκρουστεί με τον τοπικό υπόκοσμο και θα έρθει αντιμέτωπος με δαίμονες που τον στοιχειώνουν από την παιδική του ηλικία.

Δηλωτικό της χαοτικής κατάστασης που επικρατούσε στο χώρο της οικιακής διασκέδασης στην Ελλάδα είναι οτι το παρόν, καθ’όλα πανάγνωστο , εγχείρημα εκδόθηκε στην χώρα της φαιδράς πορτοκαλέας από δύο (2!!!) διαφορετικούς βιντεοδιανομείς.

Στα καθ’ύλην τεχνικά, “η μερίδα του λέοντος” είναι μια συμπαθητική υποσημείωση του είδους που περνά και δεν ακουμπά, αλλά που δεν προσβάλλει και κανέναν. Οι οπαδοί ας το δουν εάν το βρουν…

Cool Seventies lush looking spy/hostage thriller the old school way by the great Damiano Damiani who is mostly remembered for an almost  perfect,very personal and gritty style of story unwinding, political commentary and impeccable direction in his excellent crime/thrillers.

As John Dhannay, a CIA agent stationed in Rome, plans the overthrow of an African government, he discovers one of his men has been in contact with agents from the other side. Before he can confront the traitor, the man seemingly goes crazy, sniping several people before taking an adulterous couple hostage in a hotel room.

Goodbye & Amen unveils its virtues in a clever way and throws some curveballs throughout its duration, these twists revitalize the somehow mechanical , but very well conceived and executed unmistakeably Seventies screenplay. You know the deal… shady dealings, double crossing ,a tragic twist of fate and a great climax. Damiano also had the luck of having the magnificent Luigi Kuveiller as director of photography , as well as casting the right people for the job as all the lead actors deliver solid performances.

Nothing to lose with this one. It is somehow dated and not very realistic but it is well-crafted and deserves a viewing or more.

Συνωμοσίες μεταξύ αδίστακτων και δολοπλόκων Αμερικανών διπλωματών στη Ρώμη σκαρώνει ο Νταμιάνο Νταμιάνι σε ένα συμπαθητικό φιλμ, το οποίο χωρίς να τετραγωνίζει τον κύκλο διαθέτει το καστ,τις ερμηνείες, εξαιρετικό σενάριο,αξιοπρεπή ρυθμό,γκρουβάτο σαουντρακ από τους Γκουίντο και Μαουρίτσιο Ντε Άντζελις και μια υπέροχη τόσο Σέβεντις κινηματογράφιση από τον Λουίζι Κουβάιλερ, στοιχεία που αρκούν όχι για μία καλή ταινία , αλλά τουλάχιστον για δύο…

Άριστος τεχνίτης ο Νταμιάνι ,ο γράφων αγαπά σχεδόν το σύνολο του έργου του. Τούτο αυτό το θρίλερ ομηρείας, χωρίς να είναι υποδειγματικό, είναι τόσο καλοφτιαγμένο που δε γίνεται να του προσάψει κανείς κάτι αρνητικό…

Tedious and meandering sci-fi/horror/disaster/supernatural trite by Cardona that despite its brilliant cast remains completely underwhelming and offers little to no redeeming value.This should be a great B-movie but miserably fails to create tension, suspense and any sort of chills and thrills whatsoever.

The passengers and crew of the boat Black Whale III sails into the Bermuda Triangle with the Marvin family aboard, intending to search for the remains of Atlantis embark on a summer cruise in the Caribbean stray near the famed Bermuda Triangle, and mysterious things start happening. Along the way they discover a doll floating in the water, which Diana Marvin—the family’s youngest daughter—takes as her own. Diana appears to become possessed by the doll, and starts saying that everyone will die, and telling people the order they will die in. She also locks the ship’s cook in the freezer, who almost dies before he is freed. One night, the ship follows a Fresnel lens signaling an SOS even though nothing appears on the radar. They abandon the search after the signal identifies itself as a ship that was lost years ago. Will the passengers and the crew make it out of this nightmare alive?

Too many skeletons are crammed by Cardona in the same closet and to the detriment of his film the story is all over the place. The plot switches gears between the supernatural/possession subplot and the pseudo sci-fi main plot all the time unable to decide what kind of movie it wants to be, the characters of the film lack depth and substance, the thrills are very few and way far between,the pacing is very sluggish and the conclusion is rather confusing and awkward,still it somehow makes sense in an otherwise nonsensical context.

Cyclone of the same director, let alone Tintorera worked way better with similar storylines. Unfortunately lots of seasoned  b-movie regulars and the legendary John Huston are wasted here.

Μέγιστος τεκές και σαρκοφαγία από το Ρενέ Καρντόνα Τζούνιορ.

Η υπόθεση πραγματεύεται τη μοίρα ενός πληρώματος σκάφους και των επιβατών μιας ερευνητικής αποστολής που πλέουν στα διαβόητα νερά του τριγώνου των Βερμούδων και γίνονται μάρτυρες μιας σειράς γεγονότων που αψηφούν κάθε λογική,ναυαγισμένα πλοία που αγνοούνται εδώ και δεκαετίες εμφανίζονται στα ραντάρ του πλοίου,νεκροί πιλότοι εκπέμπουν s.o.s ,άνθρωποι που επιβαίνουν στο πλοίο εξαφανίζονται από το πουθενά και μια “δαιμονισμένη” κούκλα γίνεται η πέτρα του σκανδάλου…

Βαρύ το θέμα της σεναριακής αφήγησης μιας και τα ίχνη δεκάδων σκαφών έχουν όντως εξαφανιστεί μυστηριωδώς στη διαβόητη αυτή θαλάσσια περιοχή, η διαχείριση που κάνει όμως ο Καρντόνα είναι αφ’ενός τεχνικά διεκπεραιωτική και αφ’ετέρου προσχηματική αφού εκσφενδονίζει τη λογική από το παράθυρο έχοντας στα χέρια του μια ιστορία που μάλλον τον ξεπερνά κατά πολύ.

Κρίμα για το πρωτοκλασάτο καστ που περιφέρεται μέσα στο σετ, εκστομίζοντας απιθανότητες. Ο θρυλικός Μεξικανός πάντρε παντρόνε του τρας έχει κάνει πολύ καλύτερα πράγματα με παρόμοια ή με ακόμα πιο πενιχρά μέσα (tintorera,cyclone,beaks). Τούτο εδώ απευθύνεται μόνο σε αρχειοθέτες του σινεμα είδους.

The first D’Amato entry-slab in the sword n’ sorcery genre pretty much epitomizes everything that is inherently good and bad in this subgenre. Fortunately Miles O’Keefe had both the looks and the physique to back up D’Amato’s aspirations, and despite being monumental in his inability to act, O’Keefe went on to star in a plethora of Italian B-Movies.

Ator,the son of Torren learns of his heritage, goes to avenge the deaths of his fellow villagers, and rescue his sister/love interest from the evil Dakkar and his spider cult. Ator battles giant spiders, swordsmen cloaked in shadow, re-animated dead warriors, and horribly hideous witches.In the end good will prevail over evil and justice will triumph.

Sigh… this plot summary is a blueprint of countless other movie summaries, can’t you tell?

Anyway, this film is undisputably cheesy , but somehow works. D’Amato had an expertise in coming up with movies out of nothing ,another case of Jesus Franco. Plus the presence of spaghetti trash regulars like: Sabrina Siani,Edmund Purdom & Dakar spices up an otherwise flat cinematic experience.

This one was shot without an actual script,presumably back to back with the first Ator film and has a few redeeming moments but generally  abysmal pacing and a disjointed feel. What else do we have here? Lisa Foster instead of Siani, actually less of a bombshell but probably a better actress to begin with, plus the D’Amato regular Charles Borromel instead of Edmund Purdom, which is a tie .

In this sequel, the Fighting Eagle returns. This time he must save a former mentor Akronas from the evil Zor.Akronas gets captured by Zor because Zor wants the wise old man to hand him his nuclear device (!!!!) but Akronas manages to send his daughter Myla to the edge of the world in order to trace Ator and his Asian sidekick Thong (no joke guys) Ator proceeds to battle cavemen, invisible swordsmen, and barbarians with his new sweetheart Myla and  Thong to finally have the ultimate showdown with Zor.

According to director Joe D’Amato, the film was shot in two weeks. Miles O’Keeffe was contracted to star in a certain number of films for D’Amato, leaving very little time to write a script, plus the Italian trash maestro felt the urge to come up with a second Ator movie very quickly, in an effort to cash in on the popularity of Conan the destroyer (1984). D’Amato made the first Ator movie in response to the success of Conan the Barbarian(1982).

Well, that backstory is provided to you just in case you thought there was any artistic motives behind those flicks. Anyway O’Keefe fans will enjoy this one too. D’Amato completists will too.

Δεν θα ήταν υπερβολή αν έλεγε κανείς πως το μόνο φιλμ που ξεχωρίζω από αυτό το παρακλάδι του Ιταλικού σινεμά είδους είναι το θεικό Conquest του μαέστρου Λούτσιο Φούλτσι,καθώς ό,τι άλλο έχω δει από αυτό το συρφετό μόνο ως ένοχη απόλαυση μπορεί να χαρακτηριστεί, καθώς έχει αναλώσιμους ήρωες,πλοκή,σενάριο και σκηνοθεσία.

Ο Τζο Ντ’Αμάτο όντας βαθύς γνώστης των μυστικών του σινεμά είδους κατάφερε και να διεκπεραιώσει με σχετική αξιοπρέπεια αυτές τις ταινίες, όπως και είχε την τύχη να έχει σαν πρωταγωνιστή το Μάηλς Ο’Κηφ που χωρίς να είναι ηθοποιός περιωπής, αν και βελτιώθηκε αργότερα, εξυπηρέτησε με την ωραία του παρουσία τη λογική και τους σκοπούς των ταινιών αυτών και δυστυχώς ή ευτυχώς ταυτίστηκε με τον Ατορ.

Έχει προ καιρού καταστεί αντιληπτό πως αυτές οι ταινίες είχαν ημερομηνία λήξης, η οποία έχει παρέλθει προ πολλού, αν αισθάνεσαι αρκετά δυνατός και κατέχεις τους τρας κώδικες, τότε μάλλον έχεις ήδη εισέλθει στον κόσμο αυτού του σινεμά, σε διαφορετική περίπτωση μείνε εκεί που είσαι και μην μπεις καν στον κόπο…
