Hell Hunters (1988)

A Nazi scientist, wanted as a war criminal, develops a spider serum that turns people into fascist Nazi zombies. A pair of investigators who have devoted their lives to hunting down Nazi war criminals set out to stop him.
Flat and “by the numbers” Nazi “war criminal on the run” actioner that despite being shot on location in South America doesn’t do much to utilize the ominous surroundings and meanders in a care-free and amusingly lighthearted manner but doesn’t leave much of an impact.
The direction and the performance are somehow pedestrian and never do what they are supposed to, so as to elevate the picture above the plateau of utter mediocrity.
However, if you are a B-movie completist or an avid fan of 80ies action flicks you might have some fun by watching Von Theumer’s little film.
As for me, I found Andrea Bianchi’s bottom barrel hack-job called “Commando Mengele” a way more entertaining entry to the genre.

Οι υποψιασμένοι σινεφίλ γνωρίζουν πως το προαναφερθέν θέμα έχει απασχολήσει ταινίες από το υπερσκουπίδι του Αντρέα Μπιάνκι “Commando Mengele” έως το αναγνωρισμένο “Boys from Brazil” . Tο παρόν στέκεται κάπου στη μέση της κλίμακας χωρίς να προσφέρει τροφή για σκέψη αλλά δίχως και να μας «ανατινάζει» με τις οπερατικές του σκουπιδουπερβολές, περνά συνεπώς στα ψιλά και παίζει τον άχαρο ρόλο της κινηματογραφικής υποσημείωσης στα κατάστιχα του ιδιώματος, αφού ούτε ενδιαφέρουσα σκηνοθεσία ,ούτε ουσιώδεις ερμηνείες κομίζει.
Οι παροικούντες την Ιερουσαλήμ θα προσέξουν την παρουσία σχετικά γνωστών ηθοποιών από τη σειρά ταινιών του Τζεημς Μποντ ,όπως του Τζωρτζ Λάζενμπυ και της Μωντ Άνταμς και οι φανατικοί του είδους θα περάσουν 90 ξέγνοιαστα λεπτά, οι υπόλοιποι ας κοιτάξουν αλλού.
