In the nuclear-ravaged wasteland of Earth 2087 water is as precious as life itself. The isolated Lost Wells outpost survived the holocaust and the inhabitants guard the source of their existence. Now an evil cult of renegades led by a Charles Manson type of leader  wants control of their valuable water supply plus they need new underaged recruits prone to brainwashing . The villagers guided by a hippy type figure (Bruce Dern being a cool cat here) are no match for such brute military force. Only one man can help the stricken community – a mercenary living in a distant city(Michael Paré). But even he, and his strange henchmen, may not be able to survive in the “world gone wild .However Pare and his cohorts,all of them quite some characters ranging from cannibalistic weirdos to alcoholic cowboys are going to make a fortress out of Lost Wells in their battle for survival.

Very inane but extremely entertaining post apocalyptic romp that manages to pack explosions,gore,romance and of course heaps of trash ,all under the same aegis.

Bulls-eye for Katzin despite the obvious budget restrictions. His flick retains a quintessentially and unashamedly 80ies type of FUN throughout its entire duration and benefits from the vivid direction,hilarious performances and overall cool effects.

The storyline is of course derivative of each and every  genre blueprint and doesn’t bring anything new to the table.However the film checks all the boxes and the combination of oddball characters,80ies aesthetics and brisk pace makes “World gone wild” a success.

Πεμπτουσιακό τρας μετα-αποκαλυπτικό διαμαντάκι το οποίο εντυπωσιάζει με την σπιρτάδα του ,τις συμπαθητικά τρας ερμηνείες και την καρτουνίστικη απεικόνιση/αποθέωση του δυστοπικού περιβάλλοντος το οποίο πραγματεύεται.

Η χίππικη κοινότητα του Λοστ Γουελς κάνει ζωάρα εν έτει 2087.Ο κουλ κοινοτάρχης έχει ανακαλύψει κοίτασμα πόσιμου νερού,αγαθό το οποίο αποτελεί ό,τι πολυτιμότερο για τις γειτονικές κοινότητες,τα μέλη των οποίων δίνουν γη και ύδωρ (χα!) για ένα μπουκαλάκι Υδρογόνου δύο Οξυγόνο.Στο μεταξύ στην ενδοχώρα εδρεύουν και επιχειρούν φυλές Κανιβάλων,ανεξέλεγκτοι μισθοφόροι  και μια αίρεση καθοδηγούμενη από έναν επίδοξο Τσαρλς Μάνσον,ονόματι Άνταμ Αντ. Όταν η επιβίωση του Λοστ Γουελς κρέμεται από μια κλωστή,ο κοινοτάρχης συγκεντρώνει μία ομάδα ετερόκλητων πλην ικανότατων καθαρμάτων,τα οποία θα θωρακίσουν τον οικισμό και θα τον καταστήσουν αξιόμαχο απέναντι στις επιθέσεις της “οικογένειας” του Άνταμ…

Με μια υπόθεση που δεν τετραγωνίζει τον κύκλο και δεν κομίζει τίποτα το νέο στο είδος,πλην με όλα τα “κουτάκια τσεκαρισμένα” όσον αφορά όλες τις άλλες μπιμουβάδικες παραμέτρους, οι “άγριες καταστάσεις” διασκεδάζουν χωρίς να προβληματίζουν.

Εκρήξεις?Τσεκ!Σπληνάντερο?Τσεκ!”Κουνημένοι” χαρακτήρες χαλκομανίες?Τσεκ!Ρομάντζο?Τσεκ!Εξύμνηση της δεκαετίας του Ογδόντα?Τσεκ! Τι θέλετε κύριε?Έχουμε απ’όλα.

Πόρισμα,αν το βρείτε αποθεώστε το και βυθιστείτε στην ηρωική postapocalypse  χρονοδίνη.  Ποιος χρειάζεται σκοτούρες στο τέλος της ημέρας?
